Registrants are invited to contribute electronic posters and short pre-recorded talks to be provided online to meeting attendees during and after the meeting. Posters may be accompanied by an audio commentary of 5 minutes or less. Talks should not exceed 15 minutes.

Those wanting to contribute should submit an abstract of their poster or talk through this web site. Details for how to upload your posters and talks to the meeting Dropbox will be provided in a follow-up email.

All abstracts received by February 22 and conforming to the format guidelines below will be reviewed by the symposium organizing committee. The abstracts of all accepted submissions will be published in the Symposium Program Book. We encourage submissions from all techniques and facilities. However, only submissions featuring SER-CAT data will be considered for the following:

Poster Prizes: Six poster contributions will be selected (three from students and three from postdoctoral researchers) to be featured during the poster session on March 18, 2021. Prizes will be announced at the end of the session.

Potential contributors should bear in mind that their contributions will be accessible to registrants and others during the meeting and for an extended period afterward.

Submitting an abstract does not constitute registering for the Symposium.

Abstract Guidelines

  • Abstracts are limited to 2,500 characters (approximately 400 words including spaces).
  • Use a concise title.
  • Use Arial 12-point font.
  • Use standard and well-accepted abbreviations.
  • Abstract content should be single spaced, typed in sentence case.
  • A single image can be submitted to be printed with the abstract. All such images must satisfy these criteria:
Images not satisfying these criteria will not be printed.
    • PNG or JPG format
    • File size less than 10 MB
    • Image width not exceeding twice image height (measurements in pixels).
  • Images will be presented three inches tall, so we recommend a minimum image height of 900 pixels (to achieve 300 dpi resolution in printed form). If your image contains labels or other text then bear in mind the overall three-inch presentation height when choosing font size.
  • List affiliated author(s) in order of authorship at the bottom of the abstract submission form.
